Orangeville Generals 2024 A Division Champions

by Joel Firmin

For the first time in their franchise history, the Orangeville Generals are the OSMFLL "A" Division Champions.

The Generals were on a mission this season. After assembling some pretty impressive teams over the last few years that always seemed to come up just short,  Player/Coach Brendan Plester was able to add the final pieces to the puzzle. The men in red cruised through the regular season sporting an impressive 8-0 record which earned them the top seed heading into the playoffs. In the first round, the Generals took out Burlington by a score of 14-3. In the semi-finals, the Generals went up against the defending champs and took down Hamilton by a score of 12-7

In the Championship game, Six Nations opened the scoring but that was the only lead they would have all game. Orangeville quickly responded and would never look back thanks to the goaltending of Colin Kitto, Defensive MVP Joey Menecola, and the rest of the stingy Orangeville defense.

Justin Huggins led the Orangeville offense with 3 goals and 4 assists while Six Nations was led by Jordan Durston (3G,2A) and Jordan Goddard (2G,2A).
